Join us to give a warm welcome to Scott Jenkins, 2014 President of the Tournament of Roses Organization. Welcome Pep Rally! Friday, July 12th at 10 am Please arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 to help welcome Mr. Jenkins and his wife, Cindy, as they arrive. The Rosemount High School Marching Band Tournament of Roses experience kicks off Friday, July 12 with a community Pep Rally at the RHS Performing Arts Center at 10:00 a.m. The 205-member Marching Band, Band Directors, business leaders, and State and local dignitaries will welcome Tournament of Roses President, R. Scott Jenkins and his wife Cindy, to Rosemount. Expected guests include: U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, U.S. Senator Al Franken (via video), Minnesota Representative Anna Wills, Minnesota Senator Greg Clausen, Rosemount Mayor Bill Droste, along with District 196 officials. The Jenkins will meet with Feed My Starving Children Executive Director and CEO, Mark Crea on Saturday, July 13 at 9:00 a.m. as they package meals alongside marching band members at the FMSC Eagan location. Scott Jenkins is a former President and Director of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The apex of the weekend is Saturday, July 13, approximately 6:30 p.m. when Scott Jenkins presents the formal invitation and Tournament of Roses flag to the Rosemount High School Marching Band Directors and Band Drum Majors at TCF Bank Stadium during the Drum Corps International Show. The Rosemount High School Marching Band was invited to perform in the 125th Annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, taking place Jan. 1, 2014. The RHS Marching Band was selected as one of 12 high school bands from throughout the world and is the first band to represent the State of Minnesota in seven years. The RHS Marching Band has earned seven consecutive Minnesota State Championships (2006-2012), is an eight-time Super-Regional Finalist at Bands of America (2005-2012), and is the MN State Fair Champion Parade Marching Band for four consecutive years. (2009-2012).
