To all my friends and family, I am thrilled to begin this new chapter completely energized by your good wishes and support. If you are a established or emerging Latino Media Maker, I hope that you visit the NALIP website (nalip.org), become a member (or renew your membership) and participate in our new projects and initiatives. If you are Latino Friendly and work in the entertainment industry, please check us out and consider joining our mission either as a member, mentor or sponsor. NALIP supports and trains independent Latino/a film, television and documentary producers, directors, writers and crafts people, helps them to build community, advance their projects and take on leadership roles in media professions. Our primary goal is to increase the quality and quantity of positive images by and about Latinos throughout the media environment. To do this, we provide content creators with professional development programs and initiatives that support community-based makers along with content creators working in public media or the entertainment industry. Our ambition is to develop the professional skills and relationships of Latino media makers, while we advocate for access, fairness, and diversity in film and television.
