To all my kids having their babies this week...I love yall, and Im so happy for every one of you. If you need a babysitter, well, yall know I love babies! Remember its no longer about you; that little one has now taken front row; priority over everything and everyone else. Youre all a great bunch of people and I have no doubt youll all be great parents. Be loving and stable and supportive. Never let your child wonder if they are loved. That should never be a question. Laugh a lot; things will happen that will take years off your lives, but babies are a lot tougher than we give them credit for being. Laugh at yourself! There will be plenty of chances for that! Give each other breaks and support. And never be afraid to feed, dry and lay the baby in his bed and walk away for a breather when you are at the end of your rope (and you will get there!), because that is perfectly ok! Take a breather and go back. Know that I love you, and I pray for you and those sweet babies. Raise up a child in the ways he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. That babys soul is a gift from God, and on loan to you, and its your job to make sure you give that child the gift of knowing salvation. Above all other things, their salvation is your hardest but most important job. Without that, nothing else that you do as a parent matters. And an old patient told me, many years ago, that the greatest thing a father can do for his child is...love the childs mother. Whew! Thats a lot, and I promise I love every one of you, and all of you yet to have those sweet babies. And Im always here. If you need to cry, scream, brag, or what EVER, Im here.
