To all my my peers in education in Elmore County (and to all educators)....Open your eyes, thank God for another day, thank God for all the lives you are going to touch, get up and get going!!! Lord, teaching is not a job it is a ministry. Help us!!! Show us!!! Lead us!!!! We cry out every day for the administration that has forgotten what it is like to stand before students each day. We cry out in anguish for the student who does not care about education and for the parents who no longer cares or for the parents who think they know our jobs better than us. We cry out in despair for the politicians who blame educators for everything but constantly cut our pay and our budgets, we go home every day with less and less money because we are buying lunches for hungry children or packing an extra lunch for the child with $200 shoes but no lunch money, buying everything for our classrooms, we even donate money for uniforms to children who disrespect us every day......and some days Lord we just simply CRY!!! We cry tears of joy for the child that finally understands the concept we have been trying to teach them all year long. We cry tears of pride for the child that stuggled every day and finally graduated. We cry tears of relief when a child returns to school each morning when we know they live in an unstable home. Some days Lord....we just CRY!!! Hear our cries oh Lord, we pray for a safe and productive school year, in Jesus name......Amen!!!
