To all my photographer friends. Please join me in boycotting Lexar - TopicsExpress

To all my photographer friends. Please join me in boycotting Lexar media. I bought a 64GB 600x speed SD card for the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera. A friend of mine was taking his BMPCC on vacation and I loaned him the card (after first formatting and testing in my camera). He shot about 60 clips and then the card stopped working with less than 20GB used. I told him I would try to recover the card. Using Image Rescue 4 from Lexar, I was able to see all the clips, but without a serial number could only recover one, which I did, and it played just fine. So I then went to Lexars website to buy a serial number. The only thing available was a download of IR5, so I bought it for $33 bucks. It doesnt work. Finds the files, but doesnt recognize them and I cant recover them. Went back to IR 4 and it still finds all the .mov files. I sent a message to Lexars customer (lack of) support asking for a key for IR4 and got the following reply, Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately we no longer have available the Image Rescue 4 software keys to provide. We only have available our Image Rescue 5 software keys. I apologize for this inconvenience. So, IR5 doesnt work and they wont back-support a working product? What kind of bullshit is that? Anyway, I will not be buying another Lexar media card again. SanDisk all the way. PS - if anyone would like to share their serial number for IR4 with me I, and my friend, would appreciate it.
