To all my voting friends in Colorado, polls are showing that Cory Gardner is taking the lead over Mark Udall. Even if youre a Republican, Gardners positions may not be the kind of thing you want to stand behind. He has supported the personhood legislation that Colorado voters continuously rejects by huge margins, and was a cosponsor of the bill introduced by Todd Akin (aka Legitimate Rape guy) that would have redefined rape to only cover forcible rape. Add all this with his virulent anti-gay record, anti-immigration policy, anti-science statements and votes, and his anti-enviromental protections stances... I dont think this is a guy we want to see in office. I know its a midterm, and it feels like voting in this election isnt that important... but the fact of the matter is that this is one of the few races we vote in that could have a substantial impact on the direction this country is taken in. This is an important race not only for the make up of the Senate, but for the issues that the Senate will be focusing on in the couple of years. Seriously, guys... get out and vote. This is a big, big deal, and a real chance to make a difference.
