To all of my fellow Tech brethren and to my Bulldog fanatics, I offer you greetings and I wish an audience in the matter of todays importance. I hope this letter of sorts will help both fan bases evaluate themselves and their role of our view of this game today. We have arrived at the Saturday after Thanksgiving which usually spells birth to the annual Clean Old Fashion Hate. A name given to the in state rivals match since they first started playing head-to-head in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Ninety Three. I was planning on writing longer but Im running short on time. The bottom line is that neither Tech or UGA Football programs are in a position to be proud of owning the state title because of the value of such a title holds little value due to the condition of our football programs. Both teams are a disappointing 7-4. UGA has been decimated with injuries and poor performances in big games this season. Tech should have won against VA Tech and they let the Miami game get away late. My fellow fans; I love the idea of competition between us but neither fans base can acquire any reasonable sense of state pride. UGA: go thump and chest, shoot your guns, and rub it into Tech fans when you actually win an important game. UGA fans- let Tech fans have it when you actually win your division or conference championship. You (more than likely) beating Tech gives you no right to hoot and holler. You look like and you make yourself and our state look like a bunch of idiots. UGA fans; go beat Alabama, South Carolina, and Missouri than tell me how great you and your conference is cause until you do, you have no weight in your boasting. So shut ya mouth. Tech Fans; the same message applies to us. If (and I give Tech a 17% chance to win today) we some how find a way to win. Dont go find the nearest Dawg fan an tell them about how great the institution is. Tech cant even pass the ball for crying out loud. Tech- next time dont have your ACC Title taken from you for playing ineligible players. It is a shame that todays game does not have importance to it. What does going 8-4 verse 7-5 give you? Nothing. I am hoping for a good played game by both teams, and hopefuly a close finish.
