To all of our valued customers. Please first know we did not want to have to broadcast this news over social media, but seeing as other people are freely posting information about it, we feel we now have no choice to avoid misinformation. On Friday, we were told that the Westpac Instore of Orbost would not be relocating with us to the new store, and that Westpac had made the decision to close it down indefinitely. Their decision was based largely around the steady decline of use of the instore, due to more people now using the more convenient internet banking and ATMs. Customers have mostly been contacted by westpac representatives, but unfortunately alot of people are hearing information from talk around town, which we deeply regret, but is out of our control. Going forward, until the last day of trade (Tuesday 30th of September), Westpac have provided a personal banker to be at the Instore to help you all work out ways you can continue to use your Westpac services, whether that be through internet banking or using the closest available branch in Lakes Entrance. We urge you all to PLEASE use this service while it is available. We are gutted, to say the least. We argued and voiced our disappointment, but the decision has been made and is out of our hands. We would appreciate if anyone has any concerns, please try to avoid involving our staff, and come and see the personal banker available for the coming few days, or speak to Jess and Sharon at the newsagency who will direct you to the appropriate people to speak to.
