To all of those that have posted or shared concerns, We - TopicsExpress

To all of those that have posted or shared concerns, We appreciate any and all feedback on the quality of our business and our services. In regard to the individual in question, the mother of the bride came to our business on October 28th, 2013 to book our company for photography and DJ services. As many of you know, the bride was killed in a car collision before our services could be completed. Before the tragic event that claimed the life of the bride and almost claimed the life of her future husband and her son, her mother had signed a contract stating that she is placing a deposit to secure our services on the date of her daughters wedding, and that in the event of divorce, rain out, cancellation of the wedding, AND/OR DEATH, SHE WILL NOT HAVE HER DEPOSIT REFUNDED. When the mother signed the contract, SHE AGREED TO THE TERMS. She has made NO ATTEMPT to contact us face-to-face to discuss the matter in person. Instead, she has resorted to harassment and slander through normal media as well as social media and has threatened our employees as well. Because of this, LEGAL MATTERS WILL BE PERSUED in order to bring this matter to a close. Another thing as well, we DO feel sympathy for what she has been enduring these past few months, as a member of my family IS going through what shes experiencing with the death of her son on September 17th, 2013. We at Glena Photography feel the utmost sorrow for her loss, but if we go back on our contract then any person with a dead or divorced spouse, anyone whose wedding/event was called off, will want their money back. We cannot afford to do that. IT WILL DESTROY OUR BUSINESS. So, if you are comfortable with destroying a small family owned and operated business, then continue to do what you are doing. Nothing we say or do will change your resolve or your convictions. We commend you for that. But for those that have been saying put yourself in her shoes, We have been in her shoes on two separate occasions with the death of my aunts only sin and the death of my brother 1-week old son. My family knows her pain all too well. At the end of the day, SHE KNEW that the deposit WOULD NOT BE REFUNDED IF THEY CANCEL FOR WHATEVER REASON. She was perfectly content with her decision to place her deposit with us, as well as sign off on it. We are not re-nigging on our end of the business, she is. When you sign a contract, you are bound by it, no matter what the circumstances are. At the end of the day we are a business and we must do whats right to protect and defend our business to the fullest extent of civil and criminal law. Its tragic what happened to her daughter and her family, but WE CANNOT GO BACK ON OUR CONTRACT. No matter what the circumstances are. No matter how extreme or benign. -Nicholas John Hollis Director Of Public Relations Glena Photography
