To all of those who mistake being anti-apartheid, anti-Zionist, or anti-occupation with anti-semitism: Seek news from independent journalism rather than biased mainstream media including Fox, CNN, MSNBC, BBC, etc. Palestinian resistance is not Anti-semitism, it is a response to occupation, segregation and corruption. A child growing up in these conditions will naturally develop hatred. Can you blame them? Put yourself in their shoes. Hamas was formed as a result of 40 years of occupation. Its founder stated that it didnt matter that they were Jews but because they stole and occupied their homeland. He even said that if his own brother stole his land, he would fight him. As far as all Hamas members know, the IDF, Israeli government and illegal settlers represent Judaism. It is all they know and all they experience as they are in an open aired prison. They are closed off to the world due to this occupation. Although they can be extreme, destroying them will not bring peace but bring about a more extreme group made up of even more traumatized youth. A generation who have only known occupation and the death of their loved ones. You cant simply condone nor condemn them rather condone and condemn them based on individual situations. American drone strikes on innocents arent condemned by the majority of international community nor are Israeli arrests of 5 yr olds. This is a double standard. If Netanyahu really wanted peace he would compromise with opening the blockade and negotiate with a unified Palestinian government. Why wont Hamas recognize Israel? The Palestinian Authority in the West Bank agreed to recognize Israel. However this has changed nothing. Israel has continued its occupation, arrests of children, construction of over 150 illegal settlement (considered illegal even to The UN and the USA) and much more. Simply put, The Israeli government has shown no respect for the indigenous Palestinian population and dehumanize them since the Formation of The Jewish State. Netanyahu and other government officials have gone as far as saying they oppose the possibility of a completely sovereign Palestinian State. Where is the hope in that? Israel can not be hypocritical in its demands. You cant simply tell a resistance to stop fighting unconditionally to make peace. They are resisting because they are occupied. It is a universal desire to be free, take away that freedom and you give them nothing else to live for. Take away the occupation and not only do you expose them to the world but you give them hope. Hope that maybe someday there will be not only peace but an alliance to collaborate in the fight against universal problems such as disease, hunger, and poverty. We want peace such as what there used to be prior to Israels formation in the 1940s among Christians Muslims and jews. But that is impossible without equal treatment and freedom for all people, not just one.
