To all organizations, civic leaders and organizers of the serious African-American events being held this weekend and further down the road. My name is Rodney Washington, pen name ‘Rajo’ as I am a writer. I have designed a new age outline for a solution to the race issues that are plaguing our nation at this time. However I will point out that this is an urgent matter as you see and knowing that I... have put together a nationwide program that can stem the violence, change the whole direction of things as they stand today. In this new time that we are finding ourselves in we cannot tell them what traditionally makes sense, but give them a new definition of the word sense according to culture, race, gender, nationalities and so on. Along with this outline that I have enclosed that looks powerful, we overlook a word that is just as powerful. A word that as of the last twelve years the whole nation has gotten behind. The word? American. One may kill a black person, but he’ll hesitate to kill another American, especially if they know the neighborhood full of Americans won’t stand for it. There is a way to flood the minds of this country in that word until they are swimming in it. It’s all in the way it’s delivered and the tasks are carried out to make it bounce off of the walls of every household. Is that the crux of the outline? Not quite, yet is a lead up to it. No there is a hurting, angry, downtrodden group of people out there that needs a new direction to go in. Yet it must be delivered to groups and not individuals. We can’t let this opportunity pass to change directions before it’s too far gone. And what of this young lady Marissa Alexander given 20 years for discharging a weapon in her own home. We cannot leave this young lady in the predicament on her own. We’re always showing up after we are sentenced as opposed to arriving at the arraignments, trial and so forth (covered in the outline) We have to be activated from minute one with groups of professionals ready to step in and take over, in addition to the traditional marches and rallies. Rallies are great!! They just don’t turn keys on cells. This is a pivotal moment in American history. Pivotal. If we let it pass on words alone, we will pay for it with the dying hearts of our children and the awakening of division and hatred that has already claimed so many. It’s time for something new. Thank you and appreciate all that you do.. Sincerely, ‘RAJO’ rajothewriter: facebook, youtube, tweeter Memo: Outline for changing the directions of the African-American Community- Urgent!!!! Author: ‘Rajo’ -- Rodney Washington rdny_tell@yahoo authentification: rajothewriter on Facebook, YouTube, Tweeter 1. Unionize in your neighborhoods. Your neighborhood is an extension of your home therefore it is imperative that you re-establish your neighborhood as one unit. Includes: Protect and befriend your neighbor. If you have a beef with a neighbor ask yourselves a question; -Do you hate them more than your children being shot, bullied, stolen? Women being attacked?- 2. Try to keep your neighborhood from being attached to major crime. What you do in your own home is your business as long as it doesn’t hurt another, but murders, rapes, domestic violence, allowing things to fester into an altercation has to be cast out, especially when you are trying to send a strong message that we are one. That does not mean you should alienate other races, many want to assist but don’t know how. Yet you must become one voice, one collective home on one collective block. 3. Give your neighbors a helping hand. There shouldn’t be a starving child on your block, nor a woman enduring non stop beatings, lost, an elderly neighbor that has no one to look in on them, maybe take out the trash every now and then. They are part of this thing. Every body, every soul, every spirit counts. 4. Wave- what does that mean? Well, a wave is powerful when it’s coming from a neighbor. It’s the biggest welcoming mat known to man. If the beauty queen on the parade float doesn’t wave, you think she’s stuck up. It means more than just how are you doing? It’s a pledge that I haven’t forgotten about this bond that we have committed to in order to have a better place to raise our children or just have peace. 5. On the job-Unionize- The biggest injustices start on the job. Your second greatest power is on the job when you unionize. I know most think stepping quietly forward will mean losing that job, but not with the new way we are going to do things. First you need to understand that the business owners care for one thing and one thing only-MONEY!! You mess with that and you will see action. So how do you unionize and it be effective. No more lone rangers. Administrations around this country have to know that from this point on that if Charlie is unjustly being targeted, key word unjustly, then you are targeting us all. If you as a group are aware of something that is off kilter then take notes as a group, not just individually. Charlie with 15 notes of dates, times and names is 15, but then if you add Sally’s 10 and Joe’s 12, a pattern is established that not only cannot be denied, but will drastically reduce the chances of termination. Administrations has to know that if they target one they are targeting all and as a group they don’t want that sort of a problem on their hands. And if it came down to it and those notes had to be acted upon and/or submitted then ownership or boards look at it like this. If the workers aren’t happy collectively, then production suffers and if production suffers then the money suffers. And what’s the bottom line to a business?? MONEY!!! For those that refuse to engage, don’t let that be a factor. Everyone wants to join the winning team and once they see that it is working and that you as a group are committed, they will come around too 6. If you see or know of someone in a situation and you have a direction that you can send them in or know of an organization, job, program, etc. Pass it on!! 7. Finally, Protect Our Children at all costs. When and if you see a child losing their way or going into harm’s way, step up. And parent’s appreciate someone stepping up. If you’re a male and you shake the hand of a little boy teach him how to shake hands firm so to display strength, little things matter. Ladies if you have clothes that you are done with and are not selling and know of someone whom just had a baby or doesn’t have as much, perhaps they would appreciate those fabrics building up in you closet. A cause greater than one’s self. That’s what it’s all about. A cause greater than one’s self. 8. As a nation filled with an ever growing number of African-Americans know that it is about NUMBERS. NUMBERS are your power. When you know or have heard of an injustice, don’t wait until they are convicted, be at the courthouse when they are arraigned, be there during the trial constantly keeping it in the forefront before they are in the legal system and it becomes so Much More Harder to accomplish and undo. 9. Pay attention to laws being passed in your state. No one paid attention when laws were being passed against tinted windows or those small things that are geared towards applying more legal reasons to pull you over or to affect your everyday lives. Rest assured that as you sit or stand where you are right now, you are breaking some law. It may not be enforced, but it’s there just in case. NUMBERS, AWARENESS, ACTION, COMMUNICATION, A BOND, UNIONIZING. 10. Don’t Wait. Hold a neighborhood meeting every now and then as they do in the wealthier parts of town. Don’t wait til something happens. If it’s feasible have a block party and if they are in your zone, the invitees know the rules cause you and your neighbors live by them everyday and they are not flexible because our children are at stake and they are watching, learning and suffering when we don’t do what we need to do. Time for a NEW direction and this is it. rdny_tell@yahoo ‘Rajo’ Rod Wash rajothewriter @lulu See MoreEditBasic Info .Joined Facebook 07/19/2013 EditContact Info .Website lulu/spotlight/rdny_tell ...
