To all parents, just wanted to let you all know what is going. After I got home from games on Sunday I wasnt feeling the best. Had a temp and a very sore throat. Went to dr on Monday they ran strep which came back negative, but because my throat had so many puss pockets they took blood and checked for mono. Came back negative. What had the dr concerned is that my white blood cells were at 1400 and they are suppose to be around 5,000-10.000. So this morning I went back to dr and had same blood work and this time it came back lower. So now I am at McFarland clinic in Ames seeing Dr . merchant , who is a hemoglobin/oncology dr. At this moment they have an IV pumping me with fluids and antobotic. I will be in hospital tonight and in the morning they will do a bone marrow biopsy to rule out Lukemina. Just want to reassure all of you that I probably just have a bad virus that is kicking my butt, but they have to rule out everything else. There was an 18 yr old girl from Boone county that had the same issues same low numbers she was in hospital was released and doing great. They are just concerned since I am the 2nd victim in Boone county. So if you hear the kids talking cause you know they will. I will be fine and will be at the games on Sunday. No worries!!! It hurts to talk so that is why I am sending this. Keep an eye on the kids if they get these symptoms get them to doctor and tell them they been around me. I am in good care.
