To all that are wondering what is happening with Schimpfs Farm in West Nyack... The new owner of the property is proposing 127 Units of Senior Housing, along with 175 parking spaces and 2 entrances. These will be RENTAL units AND they are changing the zoning laws to allow 3 story buildings. I have no problem with the senior housing to begin with but I have a HUGE problem with the town changing the zoning laws to permit 3 stories. I also have a HUGE problem with these being rental units. The traffic along Germonds and Parrot Rd is already insane in during school hours. This will significantly exacerbate that problem. There is no legitimate reason that the zoning laws should be changed to allow for 3 story buildings in this residential neighborhood. A town that that imposes residential taxes in excess of $20,000.00 per year should have a responsibility to the people to ensure that the residential neighborhoods maintain their character. In addition, as these will be rentals, the safety of the children who attend Festa is in question. Not only will there be a enormous increase in vehicular traffic, we have no idea about the transient nature of the occupants. If you are at all disturbed by this, please share this post and encourage your neighbors to attend the TOWN MEETING at CLARKSTOWN TOWN HALL, this TUES, AUGUST 5 at 7pm!!!!
