To all the hashtag haters, stahp. Yes it is commonly known as the number sign... But also as the pound key, sharp, octothorp, tic tac toe board, comment introducer, cross, hash, hex, Unicode u+0023, and many more. So dont act like your common usage of this symbol that you grew up with is somehow superior than all other uses. Furthermore, just think of the brilliance of a common method of linking similar ideas. Its a simple, but incredibly effective way to connect to millions if people sharing thoughts on similar topic. Where is there another method or form to effectively do the same thing?
