To all those who care about saving lives , please read and pray - TopicsExpress

To all those who care about saving lives , please read and pray while reading. This is from a dear friend of mine from a church we went some years ago. Her name is Elena, a mom, and from Russia. A wonderful woman of God who is appealing to our hearts and charity to help a friend of hers who is trying to save her baby. Please consider helping. Hi Friends, I am sorry for this mass email, I collected all email addresses of people I know from my own and Alexs account to reach out to as many people as possible. I posted and re-posted information on Facebook many times for the past couple of weeks, but I know not everyone go on Facebook and even if you do, the posts often get lost in the news feed and you dont see it. I practically got no response at all on Facebook. I am asking you to please, read on as this is VERY IMPORTANT. It is a matter of death and life for a little 5 month old girl named Eva. Eva is a daughter of my dear longtime friend Valeria. We grew up in the same town in the northern Russia, we attended the same church, Valeria was my Youth leader for some years and Ive learned so much from her when I was just a brand new Christian. Me and Valeria were even expecting our babies at the same time. Our Tim was born just three weeks before Eva. But right now my friend is facing a very tough situation. Eva was born with a serious life threatening birth defect called biliary atresia. Its when the bile ducts within the liver are blocked or absent and the bile has no way out of liver leading to liver damage and gradual liver failure. To survive Eva needs to undergo liver transplant. I am helping out my friend to collect the funds for this surgery. You may wonder, why theyre asking for money. Dont they have insurance? Unfortunately, the reality for many Russians is oftentimes hopeless when it comes to healthcare. It is often impossible to receive quality treatment and even diagnosis. With Evas case it took them a while to even diagnose her and for the first few month they were doing nothing, hoping as they said that her bile ducts further develop themselves by the age of 6 months. Later on they were told by the Russian doctors to try to go abroad for treatment. A lot of Russian babies with this diagnosis are successfully operated on in Belgium. Thats where Eva will for her surgery. Since the surgery is abroad it wont be covered by any insurance. Weve been collecting money on various resources. We created a storm on Russian social website and we got an unbelievable response. Out of needed astronomical 107,500 euros (hospital bill for surgery and post-op care) we raised a little over 90,000 euros in just a couple of weeks. We are approaching the finish line and we need your help. Even $5 donation will make a difference. You wont believe, that an average donation weve received from people is 100-200 rubles which is about $2-3 but when thousand people come together it makes a huge difference. Those of you who closely know me, I hope you trust me. I never had to ask anyone for money, in fact I am really stepping out of my comfort zone right now even writing this email. But as a mother who has known the pain of loosing a child, I have to do what I can to help others never experience such loss. This little girl has all chances of having a normal and healthy life. I created a fundraiser, where I described in more details Evas story, posted few pictures and a video. You can make a donation there as well, if you choose to do so. It is right here youcaring/medical-fundraiser/-eva-means-life-/279487 You can also help by spreading the word, and sharing this link. But most importantly - we need prayers. We need your prayers for little Evas recovery. If you believe in the power of prayer, please pray for a full recovery and freedom from any disease in Evas body. Thank you so much, dear Friends. Thank you for taking time to read this long email and God bless you all! Elena Kartavova
