To all veterans of the second world war invasion of Normandy (Opertation Overloard, which occurred 70 years ago today), including my grandfather...Please accept my humble, humilitous and heart-felt thanks for your spectacularly brave sacrifices and efforts that ultimately allow us to live in a relatively safe and ethical world today. I feel that myself and my generation owe you an impossible debt of gratitude that cannot ever be re-paid...every one of you was a great hero and I can only hope that I would have had the same selflessness and fortitude if subjected to your circumstances!
