To all who are debating the correct date of Divali, what - TopicsExpress

To all who are debating the correct date of Divali, what significance is it to you? Have you cleansed your mind and body? Secondly from an astrological perspective, the Earth follows an elliptical orbit which also follows motion on x,y,z axes. The moon which also is in motion doesnt follow a purely circular orbit and hence variations will occur of no fixed value. Days are determined by Surya and hence Indias day will start before ours. The tithi - Amawasya will be observed on the 2nd in the west indies... If memory serves correctly, 360 degrees = roughly 24 hrs and the difference in longitude contributes to the time difference. My take is this, lets say the date is sooooooo big a deal, then tell me the difference gained by observing the vrat either date? And before you answer, know this, at least at the novice level, what siddhi have you gained? Lets leave philosophy out for now and speak of energy and siddhi. Whoever is correct, should gain great power by observing on the correct date! To me, every day is a day to worship Shiva who is also Lakshmi, Vishnu and every other name anyone conceives. And once you gain the grace of Shiva or any deity your heart fancies, why worry about these trivial things. My challenge, ask yourself what literal siddhi have you achieved? Do you just do Archana, eat food and celebrate? or are you serious about sadhana which is a life long commitment and the date matters not. If you feel that by observing one day of fast and prayer in a hypocritical manner will give you something, go ahead, but you are merely fooling yourself. Are we worshipping the date of Diwali or the Lakshmi or Ishta devata on that date? Have you awakened any siddhi within yourself? If not, then stop and reconsider your lifetimes actions thus far.How far has it carried you spiritually? Can you speak to the deity within and no I do not refer to bhutas, pretas etc....
