To all who knew him, John MAC McAteer has passed away in Boise Idaho after a couple year battle with leukemia. Tammy Moore Minehart and Naomi Krogman went to visit him last year. They talked about the good years at Eastview....good for all of us because of teachers, advisors, leaders, inspirations, In general fun guys, like MAC. He and other faculty and staff from Eastview have said in years since that our years there were especially fun and rewarding for them as well. A couple years ago a few motivated individuals put together a reunion for middle school (WHO DOES THAT?!) Eastview class of 1980 at the Bartlett FireBarn. It was an absolute blast. All of you who attended, and many who missed it knew, we had something special those years. Better for many even than High School. We have all lost a man who played some part in our lives during that time. I would guess many of us loved him. Im sure some of you didnt. When you have a strong personality, it goes like that. Mac, You will be missed by the Eastview Class of 1980. Rest in Peace.
