To anyone upset over any kind of submission rejection, just be aware that publishers and agents are NOT looking for good books. They are NOT searching for brilliant or innovative storylines, they dont care about the depth of your characters and their incredible relationships. What these people are looking for are books that will sell RIGHT NOW, depending on the current trends and interests, with little to no effort on their behalves. They are salespeople, not critics. They have a job to do and it is never personal - or at least it shouldnt be. Now, Im not here to defend the traditional industry; Im an indie author from choice, not necessity, and with over 550,000 readers worldwide I feel comfortable saying Im moderately successful. Rather Im here to give heart to those who feel trodden on and their work misjudged, to those who feel as though their hearts have been ripped out by an industry that only cares about you when they can get something in return for their caring. Every book has a message, and every message is worthwhile. Fight to have your message heard and you will be rewarded beyond measure.
