To become a member is to gain the experience of a lifetime, Dr. Jon R. Woods Were no community....were a family!, Jon Waters Ten years ago I had a dream, and just over four years ago, I realized that dream when I earned a spot, as 1 of 192 musicians, going down the ramp, stepping into Ohio Stadium for my very first time. Now, hours before the downbeat of my final home game, I am sitting here wondering where the time went. Four years ago, I really had no idea the magnitude of what I got myself into, only that I really wanted to dot the i. Five seasons later, Im looking in the rear-view mirror, awestruck at the experiences I have had, STILL unable to comprehend the reach of The Ohio State Marching Band. Family members, KL-Row, my fellow Fifth Years, the OSUMB, and the TBDBITL Alumni Club.....thanks for the adventure. For the collective laughs, tears, lessons, and most importantly, the memories, thank you. My life has been bettered by membership. For that, I am grateful. Unfortunately, my time in this stadium is at its end. Luckily, someone will earn my spot next year and get to join our family, as 1 of 192 musicians, going down the ramp, stepping into Ohio Stadium for the very first time. Another wonderful moment today: one of my best friends, Seth Justice, will be dotting the i. A man with whom I have had the pleasure of serving as a Squad Leader this year, and someone from whom I have learned greatly: you are, without a doubt, deserving of this honor.
