To clear any debate or argument about who was where and what regarding Zulu Nation in CANADA : This FB page I created is based on the root of Montreal Quebec Canada (First generation to take in those inner city American influenced years from the late sixties to present.) Zulu has also existed across Canada as Canada is a large 10 provinces with inner cities. Each will have their own community and traditional cultural roots to second generation Zulu under 17-35 that grew up with the commercial edge by of course default rap culture etc. I have been writing stories in books of high concept about my generation and our kin children relation to Zulu Nation. For my peers this was a big movement as it was what brought us Montreal anglophone West Indian Francophone Blacks together. Especially in the summer Caribbean festivals from 1982 when Fable first was on a float with one of our robot guys. New Energy won the Breakdance 83 Canadian Championship at the Palladium in Montreal Quebec James Brown and Dynamic Rockers have jammed in Montreal. Some of us ole school had favored other groups like hockey teams aka The New York City Breakers , Rock Steady Crew, Whodini, UTFO. We were 12-19 in 1982 so the understanding of Zulu evolved with the times and Afrocentric politics of the 90s into House nation etc...So the friends that are on this chapter is of our generation, the first to break and all the evolution forward till the corporatism got New Jack City and shootings and crack in good ole polite Canada. In different hoods Montreal Hochelaga with motor gangs changed and absorbed much of the movement as well as Toronto Jane and Finch, Nova Scotia Afrikville everywhere. We where just starting to tell our stories like any one who could collectively relate to the energy and cause of the era. In Canada there was no easy in for whites because they straight up wasnt down with it culturally. Our parents frowned on the movement noting there was no job for a breaker or a rapper. Unless a strip joint side act like a Blues band in the 50s!. But that changed when their kids grew up liking Eminem Vanilla Ice Walk This Way again then the stripper culture gangster hit home hard also into the late 90s. Along with the sweet system of literally programming once a Kop Killer and Public Enemy, in no time did the second wave of civil rights violations happen to us. We had brothas that were shot and we met with elders that would say again the same argument: How do we bring us all together from the West Indies and on. Remember or learn about Trench town Jamaica struggles in those years of hard ground 90s. Grenada war. Trinidad and Tobago Coup We the Zulu Nation were under attack and lost in translation with expression of do bad or be unfortunate to get lock in the prison system between 1977-now 2014. Selling out to propagate false messages of self worth and what it took to surviveit by any means necessary in crime and self annihilation. We were silenced and the activism was dumbed down 10 fold. The end of Thriller. From 2000 911 on many of us old school simply dropped out per se to other interests old enough to fight the power our buddies fought in the Gulf or were going inside for profiling. Jobs where scarce for education by affirmative favoritism. End of the nuclear family expectation Canadians children where growing up with full cartoon and digital rap channels into 2004 with this worldly demonized concept self image. Serialized rap pitted rivals over money and reputation would only come back from the grave to tell us wake up. It shouldnt be about how you wear the color red or a bandana or tatts or control of turf. But unite and work together by continued sharing of how to rise above the corporate system. Paying taxes and voting and infiltrating that corporate to in due time and peoples make that difference for civilization sake. The civil job of a mother in a hospital a father driving a bus and uncle a cop a brother a post man was mufn new like you kids don know. This is why now you think all that was what? Yes to work in civil jobs was forced to happen to be best as moms would say. We were those kids. Some brothas dropped out with babies on crack and hustlin sistas equally. Thats all they knew and their kids some today only still know as will in acceptaence ie : welfare homeless addicted rejected. You see those old BLACK FOLK sleeping in a bag outside in the cold? 40 Years ago they had a life!!That is why WE ALWAYS give change to ole mamie or uncle street if you got a 25%. We all related! But we cant always help them! Those superb brilliant current Zulu youth have been active with the 5 elements today have yet to put those words into practice away from gang violence element and glutton and vultures but it takes a Zulu true nation. Today after 40 years if some old young exec or original 50 year old wants to debate facts of hard knocks or respect for bullets or power moves, my goal is to revive the facts according to our history without any debate since we caught MJ moonwalk and have some documentation but who was really paying attention to Canada until Maestro Fresh in 1989! Shit the world didnt know Back people existed in Canada forever! Harriet? To get whipblackass outta Yankee! F the cold! F the snow! Just fit in like the Eskimos! and play Hockey and drink beer and parles un peu Francais. As per the list of crews and description yes this is real after all why make up what most kids wasnt around for. They just have to ask their parents what was going on in 1982. In this group feel free to explore ask and learn generational history from the many elders or parents or grandparents who are in this group. So the group is open to anyone predominant in the early beat of 1979 and on retrospective of just being alive and surviving the post blessing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and growing up when it wasnt as dire as present times I am just in publication with this book and would like to send you a copy if you like, and I would gladly do any interviews along with any other godfathers of summer 82 Let me know if this gives you an idea of what this chapter is about Peace on All Blessings Richard Aka Moby
