To commemorate Anzac Day 2014, the Memorial’s Photo Film and Sound team have put together a show reel capturing Anzac Day throughout history. Anzac Day has been a tradition for almost 100 years. This clip uses film held in the AWM collection showing Anzac Day commemorations in Australia and overseas. Beginning with an Anzac Day march through London in 1919 the clip covers marches and ceremonies over the years and in locations such as South Korea, South Africa and Vietnam as well as in Australia. Parts of Beans Requiem (S00134) are also heard. This was originally recorded in 1946 for inclusion in Anzac Day ceremonies at the Australian War Memorial.
