To family & friends ... some of you already know this, but there are too many phone calls and messages to respond to individually so I will do a little background and update here. Jim had an arterial blood clot Tuesday afternoon that cut off all blood flow into his left leg below the knee. He had to be rushed to the hospital in Wilmington for emergency surgery. We are at the beach in NC. He had surgery Tuesday evening and again on Wednesday. All went well, and after the surgery on Wednesday, his leg and foot immediately began looking better. He was released late yesterday and we are back at the house on Oak Island. He has follow-up appointments next week with both the vascular surgeon and the hematologist that worked with him. He is up and walking. Thankful for our daughter, Kim, and granddaughter, Chelsea, who made all of this easier by driving to the beach on Tuesday evening/night, arriving at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, and going back late last night after they made sure we were in the house and settled. Our son, Jim, flew in today to stay with us for a few days and help with errands that needed to be done. We are so lucky to have children that care about us. I will update for a few days, but as of right now, things look good.
