To lower class parents in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, Ivan Sergio Born in 1986, came into the world the 18th day of September. Ivan says “it must have been the most violent storm outside. The storm of bad omens. Because its been a stormy life ever since. He is looking to publish his first poetry book after accumulating piles of poems since the age of 16. Sensitive, intelligent, compelled toward perfection in everything he has ever attempted, he is, on the surface, a model son, a father to a beautiful daughter, the oldest of 9 brothers and sisters, and well loved by a few others. He is well smitten by the power of the written word, embracing it to write poetry almost as soon as he learned how to pen words competently. From such beginnings he became a prolific reader and enthusiast, and somewhat an erratic writer which he feels very few rare people would understand if they haven’t had to walk the same path as he had to. Also CEO and founder of All-American Animal Control, Mr. Marrero is well endowed to physical work just as much as mental. Among minor poets he wants to be the most major. With a common of lifes feelings put into a few common words Mr. Marrero’s poems read so easily that it can dispel close scrutiny, as if the poems just as it is says all that needs to be said and withholds nothing. (As a result, Marreros work is hoping to rarely attract the attention of the skillful critic.) In fact, the smooth surface of the I.S. Marrero poems can successfully distract us from recognizing how unusual and unexpected the twists and leaps that structure the poem’s narrative are.
