To make it clear the City of Longview paid Ted Nugent with tax dollars to go away. Now we are being asked to go away, to go down the road, lets put this behind us. Until the facts and are made public we will not. In November 2011 three people from the City of Longview Housing Department were publicly reprimanded after a municipal probe uncovered a culture of favoritism and strong-arming. news-journal/news/local/city-of-longview-disciplines-three-housing-employees/article_3525315d-508a-5129-a4f4-5b39e1db4e38.html The News Journal quoted the Mayor , “I can understand the public’s view in this matter,” Mayor Jay Dean said. “These are taxpayer dollars; not just ours, but federal dollars. The fact that those involved in the housing controversy were African American gives the impression there is a double standard. This has got to stop. If you want accountability and transparency and if you want a probe into TedGate, please let our Mayor know by sending him an email to [email protected] and copy that email to longviewnaacp@gmail. Demand a probe with a report to Council to be made public. Ask to know who was involved, a timeline of meetings and decisions leading to the payment of Mr. Nugent, and the reasoning Mr. Nugent was considered in the first place.
