To make salve from your herbal oil: Gently and slowly heat your oil in a double boiler and for every 4 ounces of oil you use, add 1 ounce of grated beeswax (you can buy as large block and use a cheese grater or purchase as small pellets) and heat until melted. To make sure it is the right consistency - take a spoon, put in the oil and place on a piece of foil or waxed paper in your refrigerator for 5-7 minutes. It should set up nicely. If too mushy, add a little more beeswax. Test again. You can add an essential oil if you want - 6 drops per ounce of oil (e.g., lavender, tea tree oil) and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil for every 4-6 ounces of oil. (These help keep the salve fresh). Pour into containers and you are good to go.
