To many times I hear people blaming their saddle or their horse - TopicsExpress

To many times I hear people blaming their saddle or their horse for not being able to stay balanced. In reality its rider, not equipment or horse. A good rider should be able to ride in an English saddle, bareback or western. If you find yourself needing the stirrups to stay on your balancing off your feet, if you find yourself pulling on the reins as you speed up your balancing off your hands. A good ride starts with you riding centered on the horse, and finding your center. Use your seat to stay in the middle and balance with your core. As a kid my dad always made us ride bareback. We thought it was because he was to busy to make sure we saddled correct but now I know it was to teach us to use our bodies to get into sync with our horse. Getting into rhythm, finding the center, and using your core to ride is what we learned. Its after all called riding not hanging on or sitting!
