To mark World Breastfeeding Week we would like to recognise the great work of the Scottish National Donor Milk Bank and ScotSERVS, the Scottish Emergency Rider Volunteer Service. In 2013, Yorkhill Childrens Charity provided £192,500 towards the relocation and expansion of the NHS GGC Donor Milk Bank to become a Scotland wide service, meaning that vulnerable babies from all over the country can now benefit from donor breast milk. The service is invaluable to babies whose mothers may not be able to provide sufficient milk, including very premature babies. The Milk Bank is supported by ScotsERVS, The Scottish Emergency Rider Volunteer Service. These volunteers transport donor milk across the country, collecting from donor mothers and delivering to the Milk Bank. We are very proud to support ScotsERVS and have donated motorbikes and cars to help them carry out their work all over Scotland. Find out more about the service in our video below, and thank you for the support that makes this service possible.
