To my Bedlam Farm family, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for adopting my mother in the last year of her life. You made such a difference in her outlook with your cards, messages, gifts of your art, flowers, calls, and visits. She was bragging about her Space People to everyone in the hospital, so very proud of her celebrity status, making everyone smile-as she always did. I am not able to give you beautiful quilts, paintings, photographs, or other artwork that so many of you make- all I can do is play clarinet. And so, I wanted to share with you a gift of the heart, my gift of music. I will be performing this as part of my faculty recital in November, a recital that will be dedicated to my mothers memory. This is me performing the second movement of the Stanford Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Caoine. A caoine (pronounced keen) is the Gaelic word for the wail or dirge professional mourners in Ireland. With love and gratitude... https://soundcloud/dgainey63/stanford-sonata-for-clarinet
