To my family and friends, I am appealing to you all as a personal appeal on behalf of my home province of Aklan, Philippines. As you know, super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) slammed into the Philippines on Nov. 7, 2013, creating an enormous storm surge that left a trail of destruction across the Philippine archipelago. And as you have seen on television, parts of the Philippines, specifically Tacloban City are getting assistance from donors across the globe. My home province of Aklan has been left largely unassisted! My people are suffering; they are now homeless, sick, and dying. On their behalf, I am pleading with you for assistance. I am Aklanon and Aklan is what I consider to be my home. My wife Chay is also Aklanon. All of my grandparents, uncles, aunts, both of my parents, and cousins are from Aklan. Understandably, Tacloban City has received the most attention and the focus of foreign aid, but if you can spare even $5 to help my people, we can save some lives and give hope to my people. Donations from this campaign will be used to purchase essential medicines, nutrition supplies, drinking water, and temporary shelter materials.
