To my sunny FB friends and family, My prayers go to the victims of Ebola in West Africa. This will be my last post for 2014. Next week, I head to New York for R&R. I will return 10 days into the New Year. Christmas will be spent in Barbados, i need some quality time with my only child, my son. . For me, personally, 2014 was a good professional year. I have no regrets about the decision to join the American Expat community in Saudi. For as long as I remain an Expat, this will be my country of choice. The great thing about living here is the spiritual connection you get to make with yourself and your God. There are no other options to drown your bad days or sorrows, except through sober dialog within your mind and body. A glass of wine after meals, bars, concubines, gambling or any type of western social prognosis are completely off the table!......This is good!....You can stay focused, do wonderful job and save hard. If you are thinking of becoming an Expat someday, this must be your country of choice. I do not believe in New Year resolutions or Christmas itself, but I will change my FB activity next year, especially with regards to political debates on Sierra Leone. I expect to limit my participation in such. I will continue to read the opinions of my friends and sparring partners such as Dawah, Abdul, Olu and a few others. but my debate participation will be severely limited. EBK is not running again. In a couple of years, his problem will become someone elses , so whats the point of expending my energy?.....I will remain true to myself and call the lies out as i see them. I hold the opinions of my afore-mentioned friends in high regard. They are my childhood and teenage friends. For me, that transcends political discourse on FB. For those who would choose to continue to attack my sisters on a personal level, my response will be clinical and unparalleled. so please just think about it!......Photos of my immediate family will continue to remain off FB. I guard their privacy jealously and i do not believe that FB is not the place to publish my sons development......I have difficulty posting photos of myself.....let alone them!......Yes, to your surprise, i remain a man of humility......I wish every single friend of mine the best for 2015. I extend a hand of friendship to those who do not like my politics and i express profound respect to those who have told me so and continue to tell it to me. Sierra Leone will defeat Ebola, there is no way but up. I am always optimistic about my life and everything that i do. i therefore remain optimistic about Sierra Leone. A lot of gratitude to my adopted country, the United States. It is the US, i have to thank for all the good that seems to be happening around me today. The American dream remains real...........Good holidays and may Allah bless you all.
