To offer up spiritual sacrifices takes our whole selves, souls, and bodies, as a holy, living, and acceptable sacrifices, our prayers and praises, and all good works of keeping the commandments, done in faithfulness, from love, to the glory of God. Particularly acts of kindness and doing good to the poor. These acts are called spiritual, in distinction from legal sacrifices, and because they are offered in a spiritual manner, under the influence, and by the assistance of the Spirit of God. So the Sages speak of spiritual sacrifices, as distinct from material ones. Titles, conferred upon men, are like iron tools. They are to be used sparingly and never near the altar. People like to confer titles upon themselves to Draw attention to their own being. There are those who call themselves Prophets, or Apostles to make their own lives important in the eyes of other men.
