To quote from the news report: As classes opened on Thursday at the University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City, some freshmen were taken for a ride—literally—and in batches. For about 30 minutes, new students of the state university were given a guided tour of the campus from aboard two-wheeled, self-balancing personal transports known as the Segway. “The objective was to provide an innovative tour as we welcomed the freshmen to the university,” Mico Pangalangan, a member of the University Student Council and Alpha Sigma fraternity, told the Inquirer.
