The Reason for the Season Because baby pigs like Andrew keep getting thrown out with the trash after the new wears off. Last winter we rescued Andrew and within days he was celebrating his first Christmas with his new friend Fiona. And because old, much loved pigs are left behind without a place to go when their caregivers die, become ill or cannot provide. And because people continue to fall for marketing hype that tells them a pig will stay little, cute and friendly in a confined space.. and he wont. So many of these pigs are taken in every year, coming from every state and every circumstance and on Pig Christmas they have a day to celebrate their good fortune with a feast provided by people who care Thats YOU! The Celebration Feast Its Peanuts and popcorn, pears and pineapples, pasta and pumpkin, cookies, cake, apples, boiled eggs, bananas, sweet potatoes, kiwi, grapes and sweet rolls. Its 1500 pounds of goodies on the buffet. Its piggy paradise!! Ribbons and bows are optional. The Process Visit the websites Pig Christmas page and pick the pigs you want to sponsor. There are 3 buttons for PayPal donations. You dont need an account with Paypal, just an email address and a credit card. Choose a pig by name, choose a group meal for a herd Choose a single holiday gift and I will assign the pigsnames. Every year we also sponsor a sanctuary or rescue in need. This year its a Minnesota rescue with 48 pigs from a starvation case needing our help. We have combined our efforts with those of Ironwood Sanctuary to bring vetting, a barn, feed and hay to this need quickly. I will update the website daily so you can see all the stockings getting filled! I will send out a newsletter like this every week.. I dont want to overwhelm your inboxes but sharing good news is wonderful!!
