(To see obligatory off the road sentimental FB post, please read below): Well it finally happened; 6 months 4 days, 15 countries, and 36,682 miles (59,034 km for all you metric heads) later I circled the globe one time I made it back home! I originally thought I was on my way to see the world and tons of new places (which I did), but along the way realized it wasnt the places but the people that I came to see. So to everyone I met who: shared a day, a drink, an afternoon, a meal with me; to those who housed me, fed me, showed me around and put up with me for a day (or 3+ weeks); to the people that helped me when I was sick, lost, or missed my bus, my boat, my train, my plane, or generally failed to handle my scandal; to those who filled me in on life back home or elsewhere on the road and generally told why where you were was better (or worse) than where I was; to the kind people of Canada, who lent me the best people your great country had to offer (still cant believe how many of you I met); to the kind souls who cared enough to and bend you ear, your time, and sometimes your wallet to me when I was in need; to the great many who shared your wisdom, stories, advice and life experience with me; to those who shared every form of god awful (and occasionally amazing) form of transportation and accommodation with me; to the unlucky souls I actually follow through on and startle with a ‘surprise, I actually came to visit you off the road’ visit and finally, to the brave few courageous enough to venture down (up or over) to the dirty south to actually come see me… Thank You, You changed me. It’s been real. Now, to take a shower…. (Excluded: obligatory FB post tag of EVERYONE I met on the trip; because let’s be honest, if we’re friends we’re still in touch and still msging/stalking each other online, which puts this on your news feed, and you’re going to see this…and like it…and comment on it…because you can’t not! :D)
