To sum up our adventure this last week: We went to see the lost colony at Roanoke, got to see a real life blacksmith (he made us an iron nail, and hit on my wife), got to see a replica of the Queen Elizabeth II (old timey boat they crossed with {my little boy could not help but recreate the whole Titanic move at the bow}), got to see some neat Native American stuff, saw the dirt Fort at Jamestown ( got to see a REAL excavation site and was shown some pieces of artifacts that they had fond just that very day, saw the Governors palace at Colonial Williamsburg( and more decorative swords and guns that I will probably ever see in one place ever again in my life [yes i have pics}, saw how cotton was made into a thread and then weaved into cloth (actually more interesting than it sounds), saw a real colonial Gunsmith and many of his wares, went to Arlington and was blown away by the sheer sized and complexity of the place {Actually got to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier} [kewl stuff], Got to sit in the throne behind the Tomb at the Ampitheater (My own Games of Thrones. :) ) walked the entire length of the National Mall (twice), saw the reflection pool, went to touch the Washington Monument (mind-bogglingly tall- try sitting with your back against it and looking up), Visiting several of the Smithsonian museums (Air and Space {my favorite}, Natural History Museum), went to see the Lincoln Memorial and say hi to Abe. This is not to mention Going to Busch Gardens, conquering Alpengeist and reconquering the Loch Ness Monster. And of course I cant leave out our adventure at Water Country USA, where I conquered the Vanish Point and the Nitro Racer. The kids were just too scared to get on anything else besides the Lazy River. Much more I am sure but those were the highlights. :):):) Tired as hell . . .
