To summarize: What: community consultation and visioning meeting for organizing a queer and/or trans Indigenous people and people of colour conference When: Aug 18th, 2013 - 12:00 - 2:30 PM (Free lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 pm) Where: Fireplace Room at Victoria West Community Centre, 521 Craigflower Rd, Victoria, BC, Lekwungen Territory. Who: Any and all self-identified queer, trans and/or two-spirit Indigenous people and people of colour (QTIPOC = Queer, Trans and/or Two-Spirit Indigenous People and People of Colour) Several people have been discussing and expressing interest in seeing a QTIPOC Conference take place in Victoria, BC, Lekwungen Territory. A steering committee has been set up to make decisions on organizing the conference, and our first step is a community consultation and visioning meeting. We would like to know what YOU would like this conference to look like! The visioning meeting/community discussion will take place on August 18th in the fireplace room at Victoria West Community Centre, 521 Craigflower Rd, Victoria, BC, Lekwungen Territory. Lunch will be provided free of charge from 12-1, and the meeting will take place from 1 - 2:30PM. Child care will also be provided. Victoria West Community Centre has graciously provided us the meeting room free of charge. The building is wheelchair accessible, and there are ramps that lead up to the fireplace room. The main foyer has about 5 steps to get down to the level of the fireplace room, and there is a ramp that goes around these stairs. Windows are large, and there is a lot of natural lighting.
