To the Class of 2001: Even though this is not a reunion year for your class, we encourage you to take a look at the list of your classmates below who belong to the AHS Alumni Association. The asterisk denotes a Life Member. You have 5 members who are annual members and need to send in their renewal dues to remain listed on our membership roster on our website ahscolts-alumni.org. They have already received invoices. First, we thank you for your memberships. Second, we want to challenge you to bring others of your class into the Corral. As of today, the three top classes for membership in the Association are as follows: Class of 1963 with 108 members; Class of 1962 with 82; Class of 1961 with 70. Your Class of 2001 has the most members of the classes from 2000 - 2009, but if you lose your 5, you drop from 11 to 7 members. Several of your decade’s classes have more than 7. Can you keep everyone active and maybe even add a few? Your membership dues fund scholarships, underwrite special programs and projects at AHS not funded by the Arlington ISD budget, pay for two parties every year (Alumni Open House—June 21, 10-noon, AHS Cafeteria—and Homecoming Tailgate), and more (see website for details). The students who attend our Alma Mater right now love it every bit as much as we did back in our day. The Alumni Association allows those of us who loved it in the past to keep its Spirit, Pride and Tradition growing into the future. If you haven’t joined, please do. If you are a member, call someone you know whose name is NOT on the list and sweet talk them into joining. Of course, you can always give a gift membership to a friend or a memorial membership for a deceased classmate.
