To the Executive Director ICTA Dear sir, I am writing to you in regards to a complaint that i have against Mauritius Telecom. The ling below is the test result for the speed test for internet at ma place. I request the most sever action against Mauritius Telecom. speedtest.net/my-result/3479941607 Since the 13th of April 2014 i have observed that the internet connection is really very low and its taking way too long to open files on ma email and youtube through which i assist and get tutorials I made a complaint since the with the contractors of Mauritius Telecom ( 8902 ) and they have been swinging here and there with their lame excuses and all kind of nonsense. Had i not known the reality of internet abroad, i could have swallowed and digested their fake diagnostics and all.. But I can say that Madagascar offers a better speed of internet than the one being offered by Mauritius Telecom. One of the excuses that the contractors gave me was also that My laptop is too heavy or maybe obsolete. Hence i lended a Brand new laptop from a friend and tried the internet again. the speed test went to worst.. with a download speed of 0.05 Mbps and upload speed of 0.08 Mbps. I applied and i am being charged for a service of 1 Mega unlimited download Internet. But same is not the case as to the execution of the service and quality of service. unknown people without any identifications called at ma place few times as being Mauritius Telecom. They are infact school kids who still have their cigarettes on their lips wen they were Entering my house. i got two phone calls from supposedly MT technicians before they called at my place. the numbers from which i got the calls are as follows 245 0488 & 245 1165 on 28 th April 2014 and the callers introduced themselves as being from Mauritius Telecom and called to know where i live exactly. The so called Technicians called at my place and checked something with my Laptop and went while saying that they are going to tune and reset the connection and that they will be back. and they never came back till date. when called back on the numbers mentioned above, i discovered that it was not the numbers of Mauritius Telecom, But actually the numbers of other customers whose lines were hacked and used from the connection box ( or whatever technical name u may call it ) without their knowledge and permission. I was shocked to discover that any person can connect a phone at that exchange box and use the connection and it the registered customer of that line who will have to pay that useage and abuse. I call this as being technically THEFT BY PEOPLE EMPLOYED BY MT. in the past my mother had to pay a bill of Rs 10,000 for calls that we never made as nobody was at home at that period being away to attend a wedding and the calls were made to ENGLAND... My mother had to pay those Bills as she was the registered customer on that bill and account number and there is no way we can prove the contrary how the line could have been hacked. Now i have the physical evidence of the Modus Operandi. I am seriously thinking to take legal action in Civil and Criminal and even give a statement to the MCIT / CCID to that effect as i have come across many customers with such problems but they could never proved their innocence in the matter. I request the prompt and urgent action from ICTA and serve the most severe lesson to MT to the effect for both the low Internet connection far below the speed for which i am being charged. I hope that my complaint will be taken into serious consideration. Yours Truly, K.J
