To the Facebook community. I find it funny how companies are making so much money off the people called Preppers. Why is it the keep coming out with random new or improved gear. You dont need a tent to survive. Have one tarp and some 550 cord and if you can find trees you have a tent. Or get a mil spec 4 piece modular sleeping bag for 199 come with a summer bag fall/ winter bag bivy cover for rain and a compression sack to make it smaller. Also buy an ISO mat which fits right into you water bottle carrier when rolled up. There your sleeping arrangement now dropped from so much gear to 4 big components that take care of everything. For water, a ziplock bag over a tree, a life straw, rain water, or dig till you find damp soil. For digging purposes get an e-tool instead of a shovel. Next are compression sacks. In one sack store 2 days of warm weather gear, sack 2 cold weather gear. Fire starting and wood gathering items, flint and steel, water proof matches, or just a simple zippo and some butane, hatchet and kukuri blade1 water proof sack. Camel bak hydration system, canteens and a belt to hold canteens. Wow I just dropped from having 80 items for survival to next to none. Fishing is easy, I spool of fishing line, dip cans filled with hooks, and weight of various sizes. Now your next to nothing... And I bet you still have room for quite a few things. ( if compression sacks are not your thing vacuum seal your clothes but remember its only good for one time. 550 cord is amazing. For a hanging tent to a clothesline to cutting enough off to make strands from inside to fasten together by latching.
