I think we need to see the Real truth in this day of APostacy among Ignorant Christians . cjm The word Allah comes from the Arabic Allah-al-alwahi, which means The moon god. This is why the symbol of Islam is the crescent moon. In Muhammads lifetime, there were 360 idols in the Kaabah in Mecca, and Allah was one of those. He was the favorite idol of the Qureshi tribe, which was Muhammads family. So when he saw the Jews and the Christians having great success claiming only one god, Muhammad picked his favorite one and went with it. Muhammads father and uncle were both named Abdullah, or Abd-Allah. The Coptic Christians in the region do not use the word Allah, they use the word Elohim, which is the name for God given in Genesis 1:1. The claim that Allah is a later evolution of the word Elohim is faulty for several reasons. One final point: Youve heard Muslims yell Allahu Akbar! right? CNN translates that as God is great. Thats a mistranslation, and you can do a little research on your own to see that; CNN intentionally misrepresents what it means. Allahu Akbar is the superlative form. It means Allah is greater. Greater than what? Than other gods. The Arab Christians who use the word Allah to refer to God do so out of a cultural misunderstanding. Allah is not THE God, Allah is Allah.
