To the OKP 23 - That is the number of seniors that graduated from Ellington High School who were members of the drama club. From your first years plays with us, ‘Marvin’s room,’ ‘The Insanity OF Mary Girard,” and ‘The Taming of The Shrew through Stage Door , ‘Almost Maine’ and al of the others. Finaly ending with Charlotte’s Web, I just wanted to say that it has been a pleasure working with you these past four years. Four years that saw the most successful play in OKP history – ‘Beauty And The Beast’ - and the trip to Edenbrough, Scotland to perform at The Fringe Festival! Now as graduates you have climbed to the top of the ladder. Take a long look around you and enjoy the view and then go to your next climb on your new ladder for by now you will have realized that being at the top of one ladder means being at the bottom of the next. As you start your next assent don’t worry you can handle it. I am going to miss all of you but there are a couple of people that as Department Chairs I dealt with on a Daley or almost Daley basis so thank you to Carolyn, Zack, Max, Maggie, Dom, and Julie (You too Jeremiah.) An extra special thank you to Josh, Justin, and Kristen because of all that you did for us. And last but not least to Leah and Keri my two right hands as the Co-chairs of sets and the running crew. Keri took over from Michaela who graduated last year and did fabulous while putting her own stamp on the job. Leah, what can I say, it’s’ been a good three years with you as Sets Chair or Co Chair. Remember your freshman year? Bobby recruited you even though you were afraid of the skill saw? Now look at the confident leader and teacher you have become, (including instructing newbies in the use of the skill saw!) You will be missed, as will all of you. I am proud and lucky to have been associated with all of you; we are all members of the OKP family and always will be. Good luck and god bless.
