To the anti-Santa Christian: do you not know that Jolly Old Saint Nick was not only a derivative of your fellow Christian brother St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra and Patron Saint of Children; but was also the alleged idea of your Protestant ancestors? Why would a true child of the Father, like Saint Nicholas, be an enemy of Christ? I am convinced that this Santa bashing, rooted in a paranoia of all things secular, is one of the many reasons why conversions & baptisms are in severe decline across the denominational spectrum. Why would a thoughtful and intelligent Non-Believer willingly join a Flock that rants about how Santa wants to steal Jesuss spotlight; when hes mainly a temporary vehicle of joy and gift giving to children; and not the Redeemer of Mankind? Believers should be able to tell the difference.
