To the multitude of relatives, friends and friends of friends who said prayers for me over the past week... I am a new believer in the power of prayer... Today I received my Christmas miracle.... My highest recorded temperature for today, December 25th was 99.1!🙏 This might have been the 10th day of fevers over 103. Instead it is the 1st day under 100. I am still not out of the woods, as we still dont know what caused this awful stretch, but home, while an unfortunate day or two too late for me to enjoy Christmas with my family, seems imminent!! I thank the Doctors and Nurses and all of the staff here at Beth Israel for their wonderful, compassionate care, but it has been acknowledged that nothing they were able to do for me led to this breakthrough. They were able to keep me as comfortable as possible during a harrowing illness of unknown origin, for which I am very thankful. But it was my fight, supported by all of you, that got me through. I realize that there are still 30 minutes to go before the official close of 12/25, but they will not be taking my temp again on this date, so 99.1 is my official high for the day and the break in this fever cycle that weve all anxiously been waiting for. Thank you to all who visited, sent me cards, flowers, treats, fabulous Christmas decorations for my room to brighten my spirits, comfy slippers and other goodies! And thank you for the dozens and dozens of encouraging wishes for a speedy recovery here on FB... Every one meant the world to me! I have an incredible group of supporters! So Merry Christmas to you all, and thank you, thank you, thank you for being a part of my recovery! ❤️🎄😊
