To those of my friends whose churches are “small”, remember this passage from the book of Judges - when God was preparing Gideon to overtake Midian with only 300 men... The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’ Judges 7:2 (NIV) Obviously not all big churches boast in their own strength - but certainly God is glorified in the ministries of those small churches who overtake Midian. Ministering to the lost and unchurched in small towns across the world is unglamorous and often unthanked. There is little money, rarely any prestige and seemingly no reward. But I challenge us all to see through our generations need for viral success and be confirmed by the communities you are building one relationship at a time. The value of your time and commitment are greater than the hype of the current age. Dont lose hope.
