To those on the front lines of education: You are unsung heroes. Teachers, para-educators, related services, behaviorists... all working in classrooms providing direct service to students. You, notably my colleagues in Special Ed, you give your all, exhaust yourselves, carry tremendous weights of responsibility on your shoulders. Rarely do those higher on the totem pole recognize the extraordinary contributions of heart & soul you impart to students every day, nor the risks to yourself that you put on the line to ensure the well being of your classrooms. Some might not even want to see your triumphs... the incredible, courageous acts of strength that they perhaps fear they could never carry off. Maybe it isnt possible for one to truly appreciate what one refuses to see or believes beneath them to do with their own hands. To all my friends serving students directly, its my privilege to have been in your company.
