To those who know me and those who dont. In the future I plan to work in refugee camps and it will most likely be near conflict zones. I have an important favour to ask all of you. If something happens to me, including being beheaded by a fundamentalist: do not go to war for me or any other community aid worker or journalist like me because a fundamentalist provokes you by murdering me publically. My death will have been in vain if a violent response occurs. Instead refuse to talk about the violence and talk about the bravery required to be non-violent and fearlessly peaceful. I am choosing to go into these situations - with full knowledge it will be dangerous because I believe in non-violence. I am not putting on a uniform again and following someone with pips on their shoulders because they say it is right thing to do. I choose to want to do peaceful work and not be brainwashed about what is really happening and find out for myself. I choose not to live in fear and to promote peace. If I die doing that - so be it. BUT do not use my death as an excuse to commit more violence against the majority of innocents by warfare for the actions of a minority group of fundamentalist radicals - there is very little left of the provocation defence in law for murder and it should not be applied for humanitarian purposes either.
