To understand where we lost Jesus its not easy when you are in some form of religion already. Yet its fairly easy to see how the indigenous religions of any region. Again it becomes clearer when you are given the setting of Gods accepted religion and the socio-economic environment. 1. Firstly look at Israelis from Egypt, the rebelled against Moses saying we want to worship golden calf. They soon met Cannanites are incorporated their religion into their own. Soon came Jezebbel and she introduced her elements. 2. The Pharesees and Seducees did not understand the word and did not have revelation. 3. The disciple lost it in Rome when they formed Roman Catholic, they mixed Roman dogma with Christianity. Eg we now go to church on Sunday because Romans force everyone into it. 4. Now we got it here in Africa through Roman Catholic and Protestants. But what eventually happened when Christianity mixed with African religion? We now have churches that take African customs and make them into church rituals. Eg African faith healer tell people to spend a night singing dancing to cleanse a home. Churches now do it, too. You will be amazed to no that some mapostori use clay pots, just like witch doctors. They use trees like mukonde, tsanga, muhacha, etc just like witch doctors. You will be amazed to see churches have shrines where you take off your shoes if want to get there and be prayed for. Its the same a witch doctors. Did Jesus not say that its now time to worship in spirit and in truth, and that there is no need to go to Jerusalem the city of Zion when he talked to the Samaritan woman by the well. 5. Then we have the consumerism aspect influencing denominations. Its about money because its now a monetary economy where the consumer is always right. The consumers are the congregation. And since they are clients, the pastor has to preach what they want to hear so that they pay into the church coffers. The good thing is His sheep know His voice. So one should perish in ignorance because its the destiny. Not everybody is meant to be saved. But since you read this post, I hope you will make it. God bless you
