To urinate and to defecate are the basic natural requirements of any animal being including human being. Without these two activities no animal being can exist for long. Smooth bowel motion is a prerequisite for a healthy living. The Homo sapiens being civilized creatures do these two activities mostly in strict privacy. Excreting and urinating in public are considered to be an uncivilized activity. But at times the call of nature comes without any notice. To cater to such unexpected exigencies all civilized societies maintain public toilets which can be used either by paying or free of cost. The culture of a society can be gauged by the manner the public toilets are maintained. But most unfortunately the Kerala Govt. has performed a most uncivilized activity, by ordering to close down the public toilets in Thiruvananthapuram. There are so many methods to deal with an agitation. But closure of public toilets is the most cruel, uncivilized and crude method being resorted to by any administration. This is a shame on the Administration. I do not think even the worst dictators in history have ever done like that. Whatever be the provocation the basic human needs should not be denied. I, in the name of entire humanity demand that the order of Kerala Govt. to close down the public toilets should be immediately revoked. Human right activists, right thinking civil rights movements and all the sane people in the political parties both ruling and opposition should demand revocation of the most uncivilized order. The National Human Rights Commission and Kerala State Human Rights Commission should immediately interfere in this blatant human rights violation.
