To whom it may concern, My name is Eduardo Serradilla Sanchis. I am a journalist, a writer, a professional PR and curator of exhibitions. For the past twenty years I have organized more than fifty exhibitions in my home country, Spain. I have been the curator of all of them and I must admit that, one way or the other, there has always been a reference to the digital and audiovisual media, especially cinema and comics. My interests lay in presenting cross-curricular exhibitions where the visitors feel that there is always something new to focus and, in short, to learn about. For example, the exhibition I made about Daredevil introduced the visitors to the complexities and changes someone who becomes blind experiences, without forgetting the basis of the comic character and its adaptation to the big screen. This above mentioned exhibition was the basis for the book I wrote in 2007 about Daredevil. Nowadays I am working in a project for one of the main public libraries in Helsinki (Finland) named Pulp & Comic Strip Heroes: Their History and Legacy. This exhibition starts from the 1930s, date of the first release of Buck Rogers’, Flash Gordon’s, Dick Tracy’s, The Lone Ranger, The Green Hornet or The Shadow’s serials and it continues all through the next decades until the present days, the Golden age of comic book characters adaptation to films and TV series. Texts and images make up the different panels and display cabinets where the visitor will be able to get to know the original versions of each and every character and how, later on, these have influenced other creations. Also, and due to the continuous transfer that existed during those first years between pulp literature, radio serials, cinema serials and comic books, the exhibition will ponder in said relation/feedback. The exhibition will be held in downtown Helsinki (Finland) from the 28th of April 2014 to the 18th of May 2014. Finland is a country that has deep roots in comic book and comic strip reading, and the comic characters are known by people of different generations. This is, for example, the case of The Phantom, a character who has its own exclusive Nordic market comic series. In this page it will be possible to read everything related with the exhibition, including what is going to be exhibited, the different activities offered to the visitors, and who collaborates. I hope the visitors enjoy the exhibition as much as I have enjoyed organizing it. Hope to see you in Helsinki, Eduardo Serradilla Sanchis C.E.O Muñecos en Acción (a PR company)
